As the only Senior UX Designer, I oversaw the UX for a new feature in the Partner Portal, guiding it from the initial idea all the way to its launch. With Configuration Studio, business analysts are able to modify configurations (automated, complex, manual documents) for ERP systems.
Deliverables:
Internal Teams Were Stretched Thin
As Conexiom grew, the implementation teams started getting bogged down with configuration requests from new customers. This led to delays in onboarding and hurt overall efficiency. A major frustration for customers was that they couldn’t manage their own configurations.
The task was to create a self-serve experience that allowed business analysts to confidently handle these configurations without needing help from engineering, all while keeping the user experience simple and intuitive, fitting well within the broader Partner Portal application.
To align the tool with user needs and business goals, I led a strategic UX process:
These steps helped us develop a lean, scalable solution that could adapt based on customer feedback and evolving application needs.
Empowering Customers with Self-Serve Tools
The key was to give the power of configuration directly to Conexiom’s customers. Digital transformation can often seem opaque, but we aimed to design an interface that made everything clearer.
The user interface and experience of the Configuration Studio were crafted to be friendly, efficient, and in line with the rest of the Partner Portal. Now, 75% of customers can manage their own configurations. This not only reduces the workload for our team but also accelerates customer success.
