
As the sole product designer supporting Bold’s SMB Shopify suite, including Subscriptions, Upsell, Custom Pricing, and Memberships, I led product design across multiple domains to revitalize and modernize these apps. My main focus has been on boosting merchant engagement, enhancing profitability, and cutting down churn rates by leveraging AI features, improving user experience, and making Shopify-native upgrades.
I've worked on everything from launching Smart Offers in Bold Upsell to creating Revenue Maximizers across the various apps. The aim has been to transform Bold’s Shopify tools into a seamless, scalable platform that aligns with Shopify's best practices and sets merchants up for long-term success.

Fragmented UX & Feature Discovery
Each Bold app has been developing on its own, causing inconsistencies in interfaces, scattered feature access, and difficulties in onboarding. Merchants frequently found it tough to discover tools that could significantly increase their revenue and keep customers around.
High Churn, Low Activation
Bold’s apps faced high churn rates and low activation numbers, partly due to the bumpy onboarding process and unclear communication of value. With Shopify striving for more seamless and native app experiences, Bold really needed to pick up the pace, or risk being outpaced by competitors.

A Unified, Growth-Centric Experience Across Four Apps
AI-Powered Smart Offers
I designed the launch experience for Smart Offers, an AI system in Bold Upsell that picks the best upsell and cross-sell offers for each shopper, raising customer lifetime value by 40%. This involved creating controls for both manual and AI-driven offers and ensuring transparent analytics so merchants could rely on the system.
Revenue Maximizers
To help merchants enhance their performance, I led the design of the Revenue Maximizers experience, a centralized in-app experience that showcases features proven to drive conversions, raise average order value, and extend subscriber lifetime value. This page became a crucial UX pattern used across multiple Bold apps and upped conversion rates by 80%.
Designed for Shopify Alignment
While only Bold Upsell earned the Built for Shopify badge at the time, I also backed visual and UX upgrades in the other apps to align with Shopify’s latest standards, enhancing component consistency, performance, and onboarding processes.
